Okay, here we go, my attempt at nominating bloggers without getting things thrown at me for missing a whole 20 other individuals. I’m not even sure if it’s appropriate that I narrow it down to only 5 – 10 nominees, as I would nominate all of you, my dear readers. So, without further-a-do:
I had taken a two day vacation from my laptop, and stumbled upon this amazing surprise of a TMI Award. Here I am, about to post another depressing blog, and bam! I need to do this honorary mention instead. Well, okay. I’ll suck it up, my sadness, and focus on something positive instead.
First, it’s ironic that the one who gave me the nomination, is someone who I would nominate as well. Now, the rules are that it’s:
“The TMI Award is an acknowledgement of those who do the same. The writers brave enough to share even the difficult parts of their lives. They share their experiences in the hope that others might take something of value away from their learning experiences. I am proud to be in their company and graciously accept the TMI Award.” ~ Narcissist’s Blog
Hence, unless you have shared grueling, difficult, sad, or depressing blogs with me, you will likely, in my mind, get the TMH Award (that I have just made up on the spot), which is Truly Most Humorous Award: 1. The Write Transition: http://carrierubin.com/ 2. Sarah Smiles Awhile: http://sarahpalma.wordpress.com/ 3. Kenneth Author: http://kennethauthor.com/
Or even the TMIn Award (also a figment of my imagination, which is the Trés Most Inspiring Award:
1. Peaceful Social Worker: http://peacesocialworker.wordpress.com/
2. Source of Inspiration: http://patcegan.wordpress.com/
3. Better Man Projects: http://thebettermanprojects.wordpress.com/
4. My Story to You: http://dragoneystory.wordpress.com/
5. Japan and Korea: Life, Language and Religion: http://japanlifeandreligion.com/
6. BA Expat: http://baexpat.com/
7. Doctor Quack: http://doctorquack.wordpress.com/
8. Air Cooled Underware: http://aircooledunderware.wordpress.com/
9. I Like the World Fuzzy: http://iliketheworldfuzzy.wordpress.com/
And don’t forget the TMC Award (my creativity is endless), aka the Terribly Most Cute Award: 1. Ruby and Wheaky: http://rubyandwheaky.wordpress.com/ 2. The Musings of a Stay-At-Home-Jewish Father: http://stayathometatte.wordpress.com/
Without further ado, here are the TMI Award Rules:
Thank the person, will ya.
Lee Stormlover, http://lifeinthedashlane.wordpress.com/aboutme/, what would I ever do without learning from your strength of surviving countless leaps of faith into unknown abysses. Truly, amazing. Just reading about her, you realize the potential that lies within all of us.
And really, each one of you reading my blog, are like my Storm Troopers, helping to guide me through these turbulent times.
Rule # 2 is to share an awkward, embarrassing moment in 250 words or less. Hmmm… I have too many. Let me thinks about this.
Still thinking…
Well, okay, I think I have shared this before. So, there was this guy whom I thought was totally into me. Yeah, you know, the eye contact thing. The fact that he cleans. I mean, what more could I want? Anyhow, back in the days when I was brave (early twenties of course), I called him up, chatted, and blurted out, “would you consider me for marriage?”. Pause. LONG pause. I told him he could let my friend know (who, in hindsight, should have been the one to ask). Anyhow, a week passes (and I’m nearly passing out), and his answer to her was some kind of excuse or reason. Anyhow. I felt lame. TOTALLY lame. And yes, he had other girls chasing him. And yes, he’s married. I’m embarrassed to have asked, but not sorry that I did. Apparently, he was a fine fish!
Rule # 3 Copy and paste the blog award on your blog (I think I’m doing that right now as I speak?) Me nots so greats with the instructions.
Rule #4 Present the TMI Blog Award to 5-10 Deserving Blogs. Yeah, thanks a lot, as if that’s easy! There are plenty of blogs that I want to include. TONS! So forgive me if I’ve missed you. I will nominate you in a different award of my own random choosing in future, insha’Allah.
And the nominees are:
Three Hundred and Sixty Six Days
Now, if I have missed you in any of the categories above, it is because i) I haven’t yet couched myself into your blog which is entirely my fault as I’m struggling to keep up with the 40 odd blogs I subscribe to. Okay, 56. I’m trying to cut back! ii) Your delicious blog has yet to develop a lengthier menu for me to develop an appetite and addictive craving that makes me bellow at the top of my lungs how wonderful you are. AKA, write MORE! That applies to you, Manitoba Muslim, and any others whom I’ve chosen not to embarrass publicly. iii) I’m losing my marbles and meant to mention you but my alas, old age is getting to me. Forgive me! You can even comment on how you deserved such-and-such award and I’ll approve your comment! iv). I’m secretly jealous of your blog and fear that I will lose readership by mentioning your name.
Rule # 5 is to inform your nominees that they have been chosen by you, oh yes, and hopefully cheer up their day.
Thank you for reading my meanderings, and I hope you know how special you are, even if your name is in invisible ink above!
Thanks for this Pink. I loved this post, and am honoured by the TMIn award. I have been busy with work stuff, so haven’t been reading blogs as much in the past week or so. I’ll have to catch up!
Greetings!
I’m really glad that you like my TMin Award! Really, we need to have awards for everyone’s strengths, and yours definitely reminds me to keep mine.
Thank you for being a solace to all of us…
Pink.
Hello Pink! Thanks for the award! You made my day! Ruby and Wheaky thank you also.
Tee Hee. Yes, it’s totally true! I’m craving owning a guinea pig pet thanks to you! Ahh.. my allergies. I’ll vicariously live through your pet ownership instead.
Pink.
Thanks so much for the mention! Always a pleasant surprise to stumble upon my name in someone’s blog post (and, quite frankly, hard to believe). I am honored to receive your TMH award and much prefer it to the TMI award, given I am much better at poking fun than talking about myself in any manner other than sarcasm. So, thank you again, and have a great day!
Greetings!
I’m sooo happy to hear you like my TMH Award! We need a variety of blogs to lighten our load (and yes, I think I will be forever indebted to you for all the poopy jokes I will be making henceforth in my life).
Thank you so much for dropping by! (See, there it is again!). Ahh…
Pink.
Congratulations!
Thank you sooo much!
Wowee! You commenting on mine, what an honour! I have read sooo much about you!
HUGZZZZ to you my beautiful online friend……….
BIG HUGZZZZ back! Couldn’t have done it with you and everyone’s support. HUGS!
